The University of Michigan-Dearborn College of Business invites applications for a full-time LEO Lecturer III (non-tenure-track) position. The primary focus will be to design, coordinate, and teach the new 1st year experience course: BA101 - Business in Action: Detroit Edition. In addition, the faculty member will co-lead the college's first-year student experience initiatives by collaborating closely with the course lead of the other 1st year course BA102. Curriculum design work will begin in early 2026 and should be ready by summer, with teaching of the first sections starting in Fall 2026. The position is based in Dearborn with mainly in-person teaching.
This foundational course introduces first-year business students to the world of business with a strong focus on Detroit's legacy industries and emerging entrepreneurial ecosystem. Students gain exposure through company tours, guest speakers, and interactive projects tied to real-world challenges while exploring core business areas, such as marketing, finance, accounting, management, and supply chains. The course emphasizes teamwork, leadership, project planning, communication, problem solving, ethical decision-making, and personal/professional self-awareness.
