This customer service position will provide support to the physicians and staff by managing all primary care and specialty templates.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Maintain responsibilities for MiChart Grids
  • Update templates or scheduling guidelines accordingly
  • Cover Patient Services positions as needed
  • Work with the healthcare team to provide excellence in patient care
  • Oversee assigned MiChart inbaskets
  • High functioning scheduler has the ability to make complex scheduling decisions and coordinate across specialties and departments
  • Participate in team meetings

Required Qualifications*

 
  • High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education.
  • 3-4 years of Patient Services experience.
  • 2 years of work experience in an office setting.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.  
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace, multi-disciplinary clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • One to three years' experience in a public contact setting.
  • Office experience desired, preferable in a medical setting.
  • Previous Cadence Experience
  • Previous Grid building and editing
  • Previous Referral knowledge
  • Previous Billing knowledge

Work Schedule

 

This is a 40-hour/week position with rotating Saturday mornings and rotating evenings until 7:30 PM.

Flexibility with work hours and work assignments is essential.

Union Affiliation

 

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
