Job Summary

 

The Department of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan, School of Public Health is seeking a data manager and analyst that has experience working with ODK for electronic data capture, using R to manage ELISA output and determine sero-positivity and sero conversion, and estimating force of infection from serology data. The position requires working closely with collaborators in Ecuador in the lab and field. Transmission modeling experience will be used to analyze data.  

Responsibilities*

 
  • Manage a database of longitudinal serological data, including data entry via ODK, cleaning, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and document R code to analyze ELISA output for different types of ELISA assays. 
  • Create and implement analysis plans for seroprevalence or seroincidence data.
  • Work with colleagues in Ecuador (in the field and lab) to oversee the data management of biological specimens and the resultant analysis.
  • Manage census data and provide preloads using ODK.
  • Participate in manuscript and publication writing as needed.
     

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Master's degree in Biostatistics or Epidemiology.
  • 2-4 years of research experience in analysis of infectious disease data, including spatial analysis, force of infection estimates, and transmission modeling.
  • Proficiency in R and ODK

Additional Information

 

This is a term-limited appointment that will end one year from the appointment start date, with the potential for an extension depending upon available funding and performance.
