The University of University of Michigan (U-M) Rogel Cancer Center (Rogel) wants to reduce the burden of cancer and advance health equity through transdisciplinary collaboration in research, education, patient care and community outreach. As a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center, a core part of the Rogel Cancer Center's mission is to improve cancer outcomes and quality of life within the community we serve, helping diverse populations access our clinical care and research trials. Rogel's office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) holds tailored programs and special events to educate the community about cancer prevention, screening and early diagnosis.
The Rogel COE Administrative Manager provides primary oversight of the Rogel Cancer Center COE office, including planning, directing and evaluating the work of team members and providing strategic input and direction on cancer outreach, engagement and health equity programs across Rogel's catchment area (the State of Michigan). The COE Managing Director works in partnership with the Associate Director (AD) for Community Outreach and Engagement and Health Disparities and the AD for Administration to address the needs of the Rogel catchment area and beyond as outlined in the center's NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG). The Managing Director fosters strategic alliances with healthcare groups, community partners, the Rogel Community Advisory Board (CAB), Internal Advisory Board, State and Local Departments of Health, university departments, civic leaders and center members to increase cancer knowledge, build community relationships, and address local health needs and cancer burden.
