The Wilson Student Team Project Center and Robotics Department are looking for a team-oriented professional to provide digital fabrication support for faculty, staff and students in our Robotics Makerspace at the University of Michigan College of Engineering. You will instruct and mentor users on a variety of digital fabrication tools in our makerspace, and will design and fabricate custom parts and robotics systems to support faculty teaching and research projects using our equipment and other equipment available on campus. You will model a professional safety culture while maintaining work areas, tools, and supplies with the support of part-time student lab assistants. You will have opportunities to assist with selecting, installing, operating and maintaining 3D printers and other digital fabrication equipment in Robotics and other departments. You will be comfortable adapting to new situations and resolving small issues independently. You will report to the supervisor of the Robotics Makerspace and work closely with the staff of the Wilson Student Team Project Center to support student project teams and to codevelop training materials.
