THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS at the UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN-DEARBORN invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting August 2026. Candidates should demonstrate a potential for high quality teaching using experiential learning, strong research and a desire to engage in service activities of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting August 2026. 

Salary and benefits are AACSB competitive including significant support for research and professional development. To support high quality research, the College has a reduced teaching load (2-2), guaranteed support for summer research and travel. 

Excellence in teaching is a tradition at the College and supported with small classes sizes and strong relationships with industry. The College encourages project-based learning and there is a community of faculty supporting this teaching method.

Who We Are

 
The University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-Dearborn) is one of three campuses of the University of Michigan. UM-Dearborn is a comprehensive university offering high quality undergraduate, graduate, professional and continuing education to residents of southeastern Michigan, and currently enrolls more than 8,700 students. 
  • The College of Business is AACSB accredited and offers a BBA degree with nine concentrations, an MBA degree that can be completed both in-class and online, as well as MS degrees in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, and Information Systems. 
  • The College has recently revised the curricula for most of these degree programs and is expecting significant growth in enrollment at the graduate level. 
  • The campus is strategically located on 200 suburban acres of the original Henry Ford Estate in the Greater Detroit Metropolitan region.

Required Qualifications*

 

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in business or a related discipline with an interest in the scholarship of innovation and entrepreneurship from an AACSB accredited (or equivalent) university by the start date of the appointment. The Department of Management and Marketing offers courses in strategy, corporate social responsibility, and entrepreneurship among others.  The successful candidate will have teaching and research interests that align with these areas but could also support college priorities in innovation and technological strategy and start-ups.
