Job Summary

 

The College of Business is looking for Supplemental Instruction Leaders (SILs).  Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic assistance program that utilizes peer-assisted study sessions in College of Business courses. The SI sessions are regularly-scheduled, informal review sessions in which Supplemental Instruction Leaders facilitate group study activities around applying class concepts, developing organizational tools, practicing course material, and improving study techniques. SILs help student participants learn how to integrate course content and study skills while working together. SILs are students who have previously taken the courses and done well in them. The SI leaders also attend all the lectures, take notes, and are model students. The main purpose of this program is to improve students? grades and increase student graduation rates. The SI leaders are for  ACC 298, ACC 299, BE 401,DS 301, DS 302, OM 300, and FIN 401.

Responsibilities*

 
  • SI leaders will undergo extensive training prior to starting day.
  • SI leaders report to the Coordinator of the COB SI Program.
  • SI Sessions will be held on campus & virtually as required by the COB

Required Qualifications*

 

Applicants must have already taken and successfully completed the course they wish to be an SI leader for. Course grade should be in high B to A range.
