The Carty lab seeks to hire an experienced, organized, enthusiastic and collaborative scientist as full-time Research Laboratory Specialist Senior (with underfill to Intermediate or Associate depending on experience/qualifications) to join this highly collaborative research team. The research goal of our lab is to identify and study novel molecular mechanisms that regulate T cell fate decisions with the ultimate goal of improving T cell-based immunotherapies. We use multiple modalities to investigate these questions including murine models, human T cells, flow cytometry, molecular biology, biochemistry, imaging and bioinformatic analyses.
The position is in the interdisciplinary and translational environment in the Division of Hematology/Oncology and the Rogel Cancer Center in the University of Michigan School of Medicine. Highly-motivated candidates who can work both independently and collaboratively with expertise in mouse models, immunology, molecular biology, and biochemistry applied to basic/translational immunobiology research will be most competitive for this position. The candidate will be expected to perform an independent project (commensurate with abilities) under PI guidance, provide experimental assistance to other lab members, as well as have responsibility for oversight of day-to-day lab operations including murine colony management, ordering and maintaining a safe lab environment. Responsibilities may also include training and supervising research technicians, undergraduate and other trainees on an as-needed basis.
