Job Summary

 

Plan, direct, organize and supervise in conjunction with the Off-site Radiology Manager, the operational activities of the Brighton Center for Specialty Care and East Ann Arbor Radiology Department. 

Assists department head in managing daily clinical operations of the department. Supervises subordinate staff members. Identifies needs in program planning and facilitates program development. May take radiographs. Assumes responsibility for the department in the absence of the department head. Conducts appraisal reviews with assigned employees.

Management duties include interviewing, selecting and training employees; setting and adjusting their rates of pay and hours of work; planning and directing their work; appraising their productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in their status; handling their complaints and grievances and disciplining them when necessary. Management responsibilities include the authority to hire, fire, or promote assigned employees or make recommendations that are given weight

Responsibilities*

 

Collaborate with the Off-site Radiology Manager in overall operation of the units, work together to enhance patient, customer, and employee satisfaction. 

  • Must monitor, document, and resolve operational issues as they affect the site. Will also expedite and coordinate patient flow, coordinate staffing levels across all areas of responsibility with both technical and clerical staffing. 
  • Perform and support duties as directed by the Off-Site Radiology Manager and serve as a liaison between technical staff, faculty, and clerical staff. T
  • Authority to hire, fire, provide discipline, including the necessary documentation to perform annual evaluations.  
  • Approve payroll and monitory attendance records, including overtime and unscheduled time. 
  • Create staffing schedules as needed and approve or decline vacation requests.
  • Oversee the off-sites and assist with the operation. 
  • Facilitate work between clerical and technical staff and assist in the overall patient flow for the various divisions of the department. 
  • A resource for resolution of all issues and be responsible for process improvement implementation to include Joint Commission readiness. 
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Serves as a role model for exemplary customer service and endeavors to coach and motivate staff to ensure technical and clinical competency as well as excel in the Radiology philosophy of upholding a gold standard in customer service performance. In addition, each Radiology employee is expected to understand and demonstrate the principles of Patient and Family Centered Care and apply them to every interaction with patients, families, and each respective team members. The supervisor must practice and teach service excellence skills in the working environment.
  • Typically, day shift, but hours of position could vary based on area and management needs. will include some remote work and rotational weekend coverage. 
  • Additional duties or projects as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or to be registry eligible Previous leadership experience.
  • Must be able to solve problems using good judgment. 
  • Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to positively represent the department to internal and external customers. 
  • Effectively prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a timely manner. 
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Technical expertise in adult imaging techniques. 

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree in related health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary
  • Proficiency with computer systems, EPIC and PACS. 
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Customer service experience

Background Screening
