UMICH Votes is a nationally recognized non-partisan campus coalition working to increase access to voting, build student confidence in navigating the democratic process, and foster a culture where voting is viewed as essential to civic life. We're looking for a mission-driven communications professional to lead the storytelling and strategic messaging behind one of the most impactful student voting initiatives in the country.
Reporting to the Faculty Director of UMICH Votes and Democratic Engagement, the Communications & Marketing Specialist ensures consistent, nonpartisan voter information reaches students, faculty, and broader audiences while enhancing UMICH Votes' visibility, brand, and impact.
In this role, you will:
- Drive voter engagement across one of the largest public university systems in the country
- Shape a cohesive communications strategy that reaches 60,000+ students
- Collaborate with passionate student leaders, staff, faculty, and national democracy partners
- Contribute to a non-partisan, inclusive culture that welcomes students from all backgrounds
This is a hybrid role requiring regular on-site work on campus 2-3 days per week. The standard working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend hours required. A full job description is available here.
