The Department of Radiology is recruiting fellowship-trained vascular interventional radiologists with high integrity and a strong commitment to professionalism to join our team in the Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR) at the Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or full Clinical Professor level. 

Our growing and diverse adult and pediatric VIR practice has the breadth, depth and scale for faculty at any career stage, and with general or specialized interests anywhere along the spectrum from clinician-educator to clinician-scientist. We emphasize mentorship, career and leadership development in a culture that embraces diversity and collaboration. We are seeking candidates who are excellent clinical vascular interventional radiologists and enthusiastic educators.  An interest in research and innovation is strongly encouraged.

The VIR Division provides clinical care at the University Hospital, Frankel Cardiovascular Center, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital on our main campus, in addition to several Michigan Medicine ambulatory care facilities and the Ann Arbor Veteran's Affairs Hospital. Across the Michigan Medicine facilities, we have 14 angiography suites, including 2 combined CT-angiography rooms, and 2 additional rooms with cone-beam CT capability. The Ann Arbor Veteran's Affairs Hospital, the largest in our state, has 2 state-of-the-art angiography suites and a dedicated procedural CT scanner.  We are actively planning programming for additional suites in our new clinical inpatient tower on our main campus and in off site ambulatory facilities in Ann Arbor and neighboring communities.

Our VIR faculty perform 100% IR, including the gamut of image-guided minimally-invasive procedures with strong emphasis on vascular, oncologic, transplant, hepatobiliary and pediatric IR services. VIR faculty are engaged in all facets of image-guided intervention, including aortic disease, PAD, venous disease, lymphatic and vascular malformations, pulmonary disease, interventional oncology, peripheral skeletal bone ablation and cement augmentation, visceral tumor ablation, advanced portal hypertension and transplant interventions, gynecologic interventions, palliative interventions and pain management. The VIR-division is a clinically-based practice and faculty are integrally involved in multidisciplinary tumor boards, portal hypertension clinics, vascular clinics, and transplant programs. In addition, a team of 6 Advanced Practice Nurses (NP's) supports a robust outpatient VIR clinic and a team of PA's the inpatient consult and procedural services for adults and children.

Vascular Interventional Radiology is one of 9 clinical specialty units, which together with our robust basic science division, form the Department of Radiology faculty. With approximately 150 faculty, we consistently rank near the top nationally in NIH funding, and rank within the top 10 post graduate radiology education programs. The Division provides training for 5 VIR fellows, 15 IR-DR residents, and 32 diagnostic radiology residents.  We have several advanced practice providers and continue to hire staff to meet our growing practice.

M.D. or equivalent, ABR-certified or has passed the Core Examination and on track to take the certifying examination within 15 months of completing residency. Must have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, completed or be eligible to complete ABR-certification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and be able to obtain a medical license in the State of Michigan. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in teaching is expected.
