Job Summary

 

Under general supervision, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. With this knowledge, develops or modifies moderately complex information systems.

Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary. Guides and advises less-experienced Business Systems Analysts. Competent to work in some phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Become an expert in EPIC MiChart Anesthesia workflows and configuration
  • Assist lead trainer in maintaining training material for EPIC MiChart Anesthesia, CST (Controlled Substance Tool) and other assigned MAISE Applications for end users and MAISE Team
  • Assist lead trainer in conducting individual and group training sessions for all Anesthesia provider types, MAISE team and other staff
  • Assist with clinical application system upgrades
  • Develop and maintain tipsheets and communication to Anesthesia providers and staff as assigned
  • Document and test new features and workflow for assigned MAISE Applications
  • Review and document workflows for assigned MAISE Applications
  • Manage small and medium ad-hoc requests. Work with requestor to create requirement, specs and scope
  • Create schedule and resource planning documents for clinical upgrades
  • Document general MAISE policies and procedures in coordination with Michigan Medicine policies and procedures. 
  • Act as liaison between customer and other Michigan Medicine departments
  • This position is a hybrid position with approximately 3 days onsite and 2 remote days per week and depending on project work

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology or business plus 2-3 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics or an equivalent information system role
  • Experience with a variety of Microsoft 365 Applications
  • Experience creating workflow charts for software applications
  • Proven ability to produce and maintain reports
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving ability 
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Ability to produce clear communications for diverse audiences using appropriate methods
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; able to effectively network and build relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adjust to changing priorities processes, and project plans
  • Willingness and strong aptitude to learn new technologies, methods and assume increasing responsibilities 

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Experience within a healthcare setting
  • Experience with EPIC EHR or any other HER
  • EPIC Proficiency or Certification
  • Experience with Tableau or Power BI
  • PMI Certifications
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with understanding and documenting workflows and clinical processes
  • Experience managing software application projects
  • Understand broad and technical concepts and technical industry

Background Screening
