The successful candidate will participate in animal handling, animal behavior assays, mouse genotyping, immunohistochemistry, and assisting with the management of transgenic mouse colonies. In addition, they will supervise and help train undergraduate research assistants and junior technicians in the lab. We are looking for someone that has the aptitude to learn new techniques, works well with others, and possesses strong critical thinking skills.
- Help maintain lab organization and record all information, daily, in an official laboratory notebook.
- Assist with experiments that involve mouse handling and animal behavior assays.
- Maintain organization of mouse colonies, including supervision of genotyping and genetic crosses.
- Assist with tissue dissection.
- Onboard and train users in lab protocols, equipment operation and standard techniques.
- Participate in periodic research discussions.
- Present data and plans for new experiments during laboratory meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and achieve short- and long-range plans.
- Ensure functionality and maintenance of instrumentation.
