The mission of the University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) is to create and share knowledge to help people use information -- with technology -- to build a better world. Successful candidates for this position are committed, and directly contribute, to our goal of being the best research and teaching institution for the understanding and design of information and its technologies in service of people and society.
UMSI is home to vibrant research and teaching programs, with 50 FTE professors, and over 1200 students. We offer five degrees: a Ph.D.; a Master of Science in Information; a Master of Health Informatics; a Master in Applied Data Science (our newest and first online degree); and a Bachelor of Science in Information. These positions will report to the Senior Instructional Content Specialist and work closely with the Online Programs Team and UMSI faculty to help test and refine updated course content, worked examples, and assignments (in Jupyter notebooks or similar) for new or existing Master of Applied Data Science (MADS) courses.
Positions run in academic terms (Fall/Winter/Spring-Summer) and are renewable if needed/wanted. Generally, CDRAs work approximately 10-15 hours per week, but given the flexibility of this position may work more or less depending on their wants and our needs.
