The student will be responsible for reviewing electronic medical records and collecting data for the registry. Trisomy 13 and Trisomy 18 are rare congenital genetic conditions that have traditionally been associated with multiple congenital anomalies and high mortality in the first year of life.  The University of Michigan Trisomy program has developed a novel approach to the care of children and families with Trisomy 13 and 18.  To better understand the complexity of these conditions, we are developing a local registry and conducting a comprehensive phenotypic assessment of all patients with Trisomy 13 and Trisomy 18 at our institution.  This will hopefully lead to publications and other research studies.
