The University of Michigan Law School seeks a part-time Research Coordinator to support the research initiatives of the incoming Dean. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Research Coordinator will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and enhancing the Dean's research projects, assisting with publication planning, and establishing and maintaining effective research infrastructure for the Dean's academic team. Additionally, the Research Coordinator will assist in cleaning and analyzing internal admissions data to streamline and optimize decision-making processes. The position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication and collaboration skills, proven research coordination experience, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive research environment. The role requires discretion and independent judgment, particularly when handling sensitive information. This position is fully remote with occasional travel to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

• Assist in analyzing and cleaning internal law school data to help optimize and streamline operations.
  
  
• Coordinate research projects under the direction of the Dean, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and research standards are met.
  
  
• Design and oversee quantitative data analysis pipelines, using tools such as Python, Stata, R, or comparable statistical software to support empirical legal and policy research.
  
  
• Facilitate publication planning, including literature reviews, manuscript coordination, editing, and citation management.
  
  
• Develop and maintain research infrastructure, including data management systems, version control, collaborative workflows, and shared resources.
  
  
• Schedule and support research-related meetings and events, including workshops and seminars.
  
  
• Liaise with faculty, researchers, and administrative staff to support efficient communication and collaboration.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with university policies and ethical standards in all aspects of research coordination and publication activities.

• Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative social science field is strongly preferred.
  
  
• Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative analysis and coding, including experience with Python, Stata, R, or similar statistical programming languages.
  
  
• At least four years of experience in research coordination, academic publishing, or research administration.
  
  
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage complex projects and deadlines.
  
  
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in academic or research environments.

Preferred qualifications include prior experience in legal or policy research, academic publication processes, or higher education administration.
