Research Project Coordinator

Dr. Tina Lasisi is looking for a Project Coordinator to manage research and administrative functions that keep our team operating efficiently. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the daily operations of the Lasisi Lab - The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor campus (with potential for hybrid work). Reporting to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Tina Lasisi, and the Lab Management Team, the ideal candidate will oversee project management, administrative tasks, collaboration coordination and comfortable adopting new technologies. This position requires strong communication skills, project management experience, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Oversee project planning, documentation, and execution in collaboration with the Lab Director and research team
  • Ensure grant compliance, project reporting, and institutional requirements are met
  • Track and manage research expenses, reimbursement submissions, and financial reporting
  • Coordinate lab purchasing, receiving, and vendor communications
  • Manage scheduling and organization of research projects, meetings, trainings, and collaborative efforts
  • Create, maintain and update Notion pages, Google Drive, and other digital file systems
  • Assist with travel arrangements and ensure compliance with institutional policies
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling and task delegation for research assistants
  • Act as a liaison between external collaborators, university offices, and lab members
     

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work/educational experience
  • Minimum 2 years of project management, administrative, or research coordination experience, preferably in an academic or research setting
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Notion, Asana, Google Suite, etc.)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with financial tracking, scheduling, and document management
     

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Familiarity with institutional policies, grant administration, and research compliance
  • Experience in research lab administration or project management
  • Knowledge of Notion as a project management system
     

Modes of Work

Additional Information

 

The target salary range for the position is $44,400 to $55,500. Higher salary may be possible based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
