Job Summary

 

The Psychology Department is looking to hire a part-time temporary student instructional aide to support two sections of the PSY Principles of Research Design course for the summer 2025 semesters (approximately 5-6 hours per week). The successful applicant will provide assistance to students learning research design concepts: 

  1. assist faculty with course materials, logistics and communication, such as interacting with students online  via email, video conferencing and Canvas;
  2. provide examples of course concepts, clarify definitions and descriptions of core materials, and 
  3. facilitate course skill development (e.g., writing, computation, critical thinking)

Work will be performed remotely with the employee's own computer and internet service.  Instructional aides are not responsible for grading student work.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Must have earned a B+ final grade or higher in the course or courses for which they are hired to assist (PSY 319).  
  • Must be a current University of Michigan-Flint undergraduate student in good academic standing or a recent graduate of a UM-Flint undergraduate program and not currently enrolled in a graduate program.

Modes of Work

 

Mobile/Remote
The work requirements allow for the majority or all of the work to be completed offsite.  On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements, but is not generally scheduled on a recurring basis
