Job Summary

 

Assist Dr. Heather Dawson and graduate students with a fish ecology study during the Summer of 2025.

Responsibilities*

 

Assisting the research faculty member and graduate students by sampling and tagging fish and maintaining fishing equipment

Other duties as needed, including work in boats


Maintaining data obtained from this study

Required Qualifications*

 

? Must be a currently enrolled UM-Flint undergraduate student
? Ability to pay attention to detail and follow established protocols.
? Knowledge in maintaining large databases of information.
? Ability to conduct physically exhausting work in the field and laboratory for multiple hours.

Desired Qualifications*

 

Familiarity with fish identification and sampling techniques

Comfortable handling live fish and working in outdoor conditions for extended periods

Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence.  Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
