The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks a project manager to provide organization, resources, and structure to the performance of an interdisciplinary Disability and Research Safety Infrastructure (DRSI) project funded by the University of Michigans Provost Office. Collaborating departments include Environmental Health and Safety and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The project manager will coordinate activities across all three units with the aim of developing a proactive disability accommodation infrastructure. The project will proceed through three phases: Community engagement and data organization, Implementation, and Sustainability and Scholarship. The project manager is responsible for planning, facilitating, managing, and monitoring all three phases. Project deliverables include revised disability accommodation policies and procedures, a comprehensive plan for safe and equitable research spaces for disabled individuals, and educational resources for faculty, staff, and learners. This role also involves collaboration with medical school facilities in support of the Space and Research Programming Team. The project manager will report to Professor Karl Jepsen, Associate Dean for Research, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Medical School, and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering and Medical School. Candidates must demonstrate experience in project management, analytical thinking, and confidence in recommending courses of action. This is a 2.5-year term-limited position.
