This position will have outpatient and consultative responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participates in the care of outpatients in the congenital heart center. Specifically, general cardiology clinic and focused clinics for infants in the interstage period. Once trained, the interstage visits will be directed or independent visits.
Participates in both in person and virtual visits.
Participates in program development, protocol review and development, and quality improvement with opportunities to participate in clinical research.
Consistent with the collaborative practice agreement, diagnose and treat patients in a medical and post-surgical care setting. Exercises autonomy in medical decision-making and provides a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. This will include managing patients with complex, acute, and chronic health conditions. Performs admission H&P's, consults, new patient visits, return visits and subsequent care days.
Performs health assessments, including patient history, physical examinations, diagnostic tests and appropriate interventions or referrals.
Documents patient care, progress towards goals and maintains complete and detailed patient records. Provides health education. Develops and implements patient education programs. Presents workshops, lectures and in-service programs for care team members as well as patients and families.
A small portion of effort will be spent providing cross coverage for other Advanced Practice Providers (responsibilities TBD).
