Preferred Qualifications for the Engagement Storyteller:
A successful candidate will have the ability to work in a highly collaborative team setting with enthusiasm and creativity. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven and diverse background in Communication or Journalism and Media Production and who are seeking a long-term relationship with the Office of Community-Engaged Learning. A highly qualified candidate will seek to deeply understand and promote the work OCEL does.
The successful applicant will possess the following skills, characteristics and aptitudes:
- Demonstrated ability to engage a variety of audiences through several platforms, using long-, short-form, photo, and video content;
- Proficiency using data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Canva), the ability to quickly learn related software systems;
- A proven background in community/civic engagement and interaction with members of the community;
- A self-starter with strong written and interpersonal communication skills;
- A significant level of maturity, self-sufficiency, and follow-through;
- And the ability to prioritize and multitask on a variety of projects and assignments.
