Job Summary

 

The Cardiovascular Research Network (CRN) Admin / Project Coordinator will provide administrative support to the leaders of the CRN, its working groups, and the broad Research Administration team. You will manage our communication, marketing, and promotion platforms including our weekly emails, monthly newsletters, and our research website. Compile and analyze information for inclusion in reports or presentation materials, prepare charts, graphs, or tables as necessary. In addition, you will serve as the primary administration coordinator for our Frontiers in Science seminar program, annual symposium, and other special events throughout the year.

Responsibilities*

 

Support of Frontiers in Science Seminar Series and Special Events

  • Organize and facilitate all aspects of weekly seminars including liaising with invited speakers/visiting professors, hosting guests, attending all events, and handling all other details related to the seminar series.
  • Coordinate invited speaker/visiting professor travel including flights, hotel, ground transportation, and reimbursement.
  • Manage the invited speaker nomination process including announcements, advertising, collecting nominations and distributing notices. Strategic planning for evolution of process.
  • Author reports, create and track metrics, and report information to leadership teams as needed.

Manage all Research Marketing and Communication Platforms

  • Author and disseminate weekly emails and other community communications as needed.
  • Compile, create, and distribute the CRN monthly newsletter.
  • Manage, review, and update the research website.
  • Meet with and build relationships with departmental communication personnel to increase the reach of our messaging and the overall community awareness of the work that is being done.

Administrative Support 

  • Administrative support to the CRN Program Manager and Area Directors including calendaring, meetings notes and room assignments, assisting with agendas and communications.
  • Provide program support to the Cardiovascular Research Network, including coordination of and attendance in meetings, seminars, and conferences; updating and maintaining the research website and newsletter; routine account reconciliation and tracking; assisting with preparation of reports including data collection and analysis, drafting content and creating charts or graphs.
  • Provide general administrative support to the FCVC Administrative Director and broad research team, including coordination of meetings and strategic priority advancement activities, general communication, PCARD reconciliation, and supply ordering.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Additional duties to support FCVC Research Administration as assigned. 
     

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Minimum of (2) years administrative or program/project experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to work with maximum collaboration in a team environment.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and web-based applications.
  • Demonstration of commitment to the FCVC Core Values.
     

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • 2+ years of administrative support or project management experience.
  • Experience utilizing Outlook, M-Pathways and other University of Michigan IT systems is desired.
  • Experience using Canva.
  • Knowledge of University policies, rules, and regulations is desired.
  • Previous experience in research setting.
     

Modes of Work

Background Screening
