Ambulatory Care is seeking a highly motivated professional from the University of Michigan Health Management and Policy Program to serve as an Administrative Intern. This position will provide the chosen candidate with high-level exposure to Michigan Medicine Leadership and broad organization issues where they will be challenged to think critically and contribute innovative ideas. Under general direction from leadership, the Administrative Intern will provide project management and leadership to support strategic initiatives across the UMMG enterprise. This individual will be responsible for managing large, complex project deliverables that require collaboration across stakeholder groups. This individual will coordinate analysis, documents and logistics using industry standards, policies/procedures, plans/specifications, and quality/safety requirements to help drive decision-making. • Conduct informational interviews with key leaders across the organization.
• Serve as lead on high-profile projects with senior management.
• Responsible for applying knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to meet task requirements: scope, budget, quality, time, communications, change management, risk management, and stakeholder management.
• Provide support with handling administrative matters including those of a confidential nature. 
• Create or draft correspondence for high-level leadership. 
• Draft PowerPoint presentations and simple to medium complexity Excel spreadsheets.
• Responsible for tracking, reporting, and status meetings, ensuring successful implementation of activities with stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, document, and resolve issues, risks, decisions, and dependencies; escalates to appropriate stakeholders when necessary.
• Effectively apply logic, principles, and analytics to aid in decision-making. Assesses complex problems, draws conclusions, and provides value-driven solutions.
• Conducts meetings and presentations with effective communication, and manages change with stakeholders.
• Establishes and maintains an excellent working relationship with teams and stakeholders.
• Acts as a liaison between various departments to ensure that all activities are in support of overall goals and objectives.
• Perform other duties as directed.

• Ability to analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free of immediate directions, within the scope of their responsibility.

• Ability to use SQL to pull and manipulate data.
• Knowledge of University of Michigan Health System Policies and Procedures.
