Job Summary

 

The Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Michigan-Dearborn seeks a Clinical Research Scholar (CRISP Scholar) to collaborate on research projects in Preventive Health, Primary Care, and Emergency Medicine.

  • Hourly pay by the Department of Natural Sciences, University of Michigan, Dearborn
  • An assessment/exit interview is required.

Duration: Twelve months, with a possible short-term extension

Responsibilities*

 
  • Participate in all stages of clinical research, including protocol development, IRB interaction, and execution.
  • Contribute to scholarly activities such as writing manuscripts for publication, responding to reviewer comments, submitting research publications to journals, and responding to journal reviewers.
  • Utilize electronic data capture systems (e.g., REDCap) for efficient data management (training provided).
  • Some administrative support for the UM-Dearborn EMRAP program (BIO 494) may also be required at the discretion of the program director, currently
    Daniel Keyes, MD, MPH.
  • The scholar must make two to three days a week available to allow scheduling for collaborative scholarly activity, participation in meetings, etc at Trinity Hospital Livonia, MI. 

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Pursuing or recently obtained a higher education degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, health sciences).
  • Strong written and communication skills for manuscript preparation and interaction with journals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work effectively, independently, and collaboratively.
  • Successful applicant must comply with Trinity Health requirements, including health care coverage. 

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Recent completion of a clinical research training program such as the UM-Dearborn Emergency Medicine Research Associates Program (EMRAP) is preferred;  however, candidates with extensive experience in Clinical Research outside EMRAP may also be considered.
  • Experience with clinical research procedures and practices (HIPAA, data analysis, etc.) is preferred.
