VVWH is a Level IV Regional Perinatal Health Care Center. In this program, a multidisciplinary team cares for low and high-risk pregnant patients and fetuses throughout antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
The VVWH Perioperative Clinical Nursing Director will have oversight of the VVWH operating room, post anesthesia care area, and other care areas as assigned as the Women's Hospital perioperative program grows.
The CND plans and manages the clinical and administrative operations, with responsibility for the following: assuring implementation of patient care and quality standards; planning, organizing and evaluating clinical practice; participating in planning, development and implementation of unit policies, goals and objectives and standards of nursing practice; counseling and evaluating the performance and clinical practice of the nursing staff; oversight of staff development and unit orientation programs to ensure compliance with practice standards; identification and resolution of unit operational problems; represent the unit on assigned clinical area and health-system committees; maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations, and accreditation standards regarding affirmative action, safety and patient care; actively collaborate in the development of annual budgets; manage and provide variance reporting of activity, payroll, commodity, & capital budgets; participate in/lead new program development & implementation. Goals and outcomes are achieved in collaboration with the unit Medical Director partner.
