The Investment Office at the University of Michigan is seeking a part-time intern to join our team for the Winter 2025 term. The position is hybrid with onsite work required for testing alongside an Investment Office team member and remote work available for work to be performed. You will refine and strengthen your skills in finance and investing, data analysis, and project management.

The purpose of the internship is to research and potentially help implement AI tools that can be used for underwriting, monitoring, and pipeline management of investment opportunities.

The University of Michigan Investment Office is responsible for directing and overseeing the investment of the University's $19+ billion of financial reserves, which includes the 9th largest university endowment. The Investment Office staff works with many of the top investment managers globally to provide the financial resources necessary to ensure the long-term success of one of the world's great teaching and research institutions.

• Survey of the Investment Office to discuss the current processes and tools used by the team for underwriting, monitoring, and pipeline management
• Research different software/AI tools and how they are used by other endowments/foundations/etc.
• Test the software/tools
• Present a recommendation to Investment Office staff

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree, with a demonstrated interest in accounting, finance, economics, investing, or business management
• Conceptualize and present quantitative and qualitative information
• Multi-task and prioritize work with the ability to work independently
• Team-oriented
• Attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Suite
• Maintain strict confidentiality requirements
