Essential:
1. Performs Clerical & Radiology Reading Room duties as directed by Supervisor or Lead:
a. Utilize proper telephone skills in directing and transferring incoming calls.
b. Accurately enter patient, study, and physician information into the Radiology information system (Radiant) and be knowledgeable of the system as it pertains to your duties.
c. Accurately enter codes and pertinent information.
d. Be proficient in digital processes as they pertain to your duties: image archiving; PACS, CD burning, troubleshooting printer problems, and providing comparisons for interpretations.
e. Be proficient in work processes; directing order requests and protocols as per study ordered; promptly providing radiologists with assistance as appropriate per role; monitoring and resolving order issues and unread studies; promptly handling all call reports & STAT reads Liaison between Radiology and all clinics or departments outside of Radiology.
f. Consistently update RRC manual with process and/or workflow changes.
g. Answer incoming phone calls and triage to appropriate location.
h. Accurately record any phone messages and assure they are forwarded appropriately.
i. Receive and assist patients and other customers.
j. Be able to follow customer service guidelines consistently.
k. Adhere to high standards of teamwork by demonstrating adaptability, flexibility, and consistently sharing information and resources with others.
l. Ability to work independently in an ever-changing and potentially stressful environment.
m. Demonstrate dependability, initiative, ability to prioritize, and ability to accept direction.
n. Good oral and written communication skills.
o. Working knowledge of MiChart, Radiology Information System (Radiant), Life Image, PACS Cube, and Sectra.
p. Promote personal comfort and convenience of patients and families by routinely checking their needs.
RELATED DUTIES
1. Interact with patients, staff, and providers in a spirit of customer service, cooperation, and teamwork.
2. Demonstrate proper leadership and communication skills when assisting patients, staff, or providers with problem resolution.
3. Maintains proper attendance.
4. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
5. Dress appropriately and within departmental guidelines.
6. Assist all co-workers, patients and interdepartmental staff as needed or as pertains to your duties.
7. Coordinate and schedule Radiology procedures.
8. Perform Chaperone duties as required.
9. All RRC duties as assigned.
10. All other related Radiology duties as needed.
11. Float Patient Services Intermediate completes all duties as listed above in addition to providing coverage at the multiple off-site locations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
a. Can spend 40% of the time assisting technologists, and nurses. Responsibilities include assisting the patient to prepare for the diagnostic examination, walking patients to and from the appropriate changing areas, and walking 1st and 2nd doses of oral contrast preparations to patients. This can also include maneuvering patients with mobility devices through hallways to appropriate changing areas.
b. Assisting team members with tablet distribution, walking to waiting areas to assist patients with filling out questionnaires, and covering for breaks/lunches.
c. Can spend 20% of time with inventory management and infection prevention. Lifting and stocking of linens, oral contrast bottles in refrigerator and on shelves, and unloading and stocking office supplies. Keeping the area clean and in compliance with TJC standards (cleaning workspaces, tablets, counter tops, wheelchairs, and patient waiting spaces).
