As part of the Enrollment Management division, and reporting to the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions, the Admissions Counselor role serves as a key member of the team which is focused on supporting the recruitment goals of the University. The Admissions Counselor is part of a professional, fast-paced, and cohesive team where work feels like a second home. The scope of recruitment is typically within Southeastern, Michigan for our regional public institution. Responsibilities include building awareness of the UM-Dearborn brand and conveying the sense of Michigan Excellence and Community upon which we pride ourselves. Outreach efforts are ongoing and vary throughout the year as focus shifts among the following activities: on and off campus school visits, general high school presentations, college fairs and recruitment events (in-person and virtual); and the counseling of prospective students to get them into the admissions funnel focusing on students prior to application. While this role will work primarily with the first-year student population there will be a coordinated effort with the transfer team with the Office of Admission.
