Hours:  Mon-Fri, Full time, rotating late nights and Saturdays

Monday: 7:30AM - 6PM

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30AM - 5PM

Wednesday: 7:30AM - 7PM

Rotating Saturday hours from 7:30AM - 12PM

This Briarwood Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) is a Patient Centered Medical Home in the Division of Pediatrics and OB/GYN, which provides team-based primary care to adult and pediatric patients. The primary mission of the ACU is to provide timely, high-quality, evidence-based, empathetic care to a population of diverse patients while also upholding the academic mission of Michigan Medicine through the education of medical students and residents. Responsibilities*

 
  • 30/70 split job duties of PSI and PSA (check in/check out)
  • Forms completion - prepare, maintain, and update patient forms/records
  • Maintain and manage inbasket messages, including patient portal messages
  • Template editor
  • Process cash reconciliation
  • Prior authorization process for IBH clinic
  • Manage workqueues for the clinic
  • Work with providers, nursing team, medical assistants, administrative team, and other clerical team members to improve patient care and improve processes to enhance patient experience

Required Qualifications*

 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-4 years of experience 
  • Demonstrated record of excellent attendance
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team setting
  • General office practices, ability to understand medical documentation, coding, and diagnosis
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Exhibits professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty, and staff
  • Able to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Solid understanding of computers, email, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Prior Cadence and MiChart/Epic experience
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory care clinical setting
  • Experience working within a large, complex healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of university policies & procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of insurance carrier requirements

Modes of Work

Background Screening
