PitE is a jointly managed program between the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) and the School of Environment and Sustainability (SEAS), that serves 300 majors and 300 minors. PitE is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program that allows students to explore environmental and sustainability issues facing society and develop skills to address and adapt to the associated challenges. The curriculum blends foundational knowledge, skills, and practices from natural sciences, social sciences, humanities. Our staff team is a group of detail-oriented and positive people who are committed to providing enthusiastic support to our students and community. PitE's students are highly engaged both within and outside the classroom and participate in a wide array of co-curricular activities including student groups, internships, and community engagement activities. The School for Environment and Sustainability (https://seas.umich.edu/) is a collaborative and interdisciplinary school.
