Job Summary

 

Provide leadership, guidance, and support to all MRI staff at University Hospital, Children's and Women's Hospital, East Ann Arbor Health Center, Northville Health Center, Brighton Center for Specialty Care. Afternoon/Midnight hours of operation is the primary timeframe of responsibility for this position but will not be limited to afternoons and/or Midnights. Direct subordinates will include University Hospital.  On call hours are required.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Assist department manager in managing daily clinical operations of the department.
  • Provide supervision to subordinate staff.
  • Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the department manager.
  • Conduct appraisal reviews with assigned employees.
  • Accomplish radiology (MRI) objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meets radiology operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and patient-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.
  • Supports patient care by resolving issues with physicians, radiologists, MRI technologists, and ancillary staff, improving and maintaining quality assurance program for department functions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor degree in a related health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MR) or registration as a Resonance Imagine Technologist (ARMRIT)
  • Reasonable progressively responsible clinical experience is necessary.
  • Considerable knowledge of University and departmental policies, procedures and regulations is
    necessary.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology is necessary
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be in stationary position (sitting or standing) up to 80% of the time.
  • Great communication skills
  • Worked within in a large operation that covers multiple sites.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • 3-5 years of MRI operation experience
  • Experience in a leadership role, preferable in a health care environment, MRI specifically.
  • Willing to be flexible with hours of operation and sites of operation.
  • Knowledge of the EPIC EMR system.
  • Experience with project management in any industry.

4x 10 hour shift, M-F 3:30pm-1:30am

Background Screening
