Job Summary

 

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate complex, high-impact projects, ensuring alignment and smooth progression across multiple teams and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include developing and overseeing comprehensive project plans, tracking project performance using advanced project management tools, and managing risks and issues to maintain project stability. The role requires strategic resource allocation and budget management, in collaboration with finance teams, to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints. Additionally, the candidate will drive stakeholder engagement strategies, leveraging high-level relationships to foster collaboration and long-term partnerships. Possessing deep subject matter expertise, the candidate will provide authoritative guidance, mentor teams, and stay updated on industry advancements to inform project strategies. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is proficiency in project management methodologies, to enable data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. Furthermore, the candidate will contribute to business development efforts, identifying new opportunities and working to expand the organization's project portfolio.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, public health or a related field; Master's preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of related project management experience 
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience managing programs and processes, developing, and monitoring budgets, delegating tasks and managing communication with internal and external partners. Demonstrated ability to lead projects through to completion within defined guidelines, utilizing effective problem-solving skills to achieve project goals. 
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Trello).
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic; demonstrated high level of responsibility and accountability.
  • Willingness to work in a highly interactive and collegial team. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Experience with healthcare delivery systems, community-based organizations, behavioral health, Federally Qualified Health Centers, backbone organizations and/or community integrated health networks is preferred.

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
