The University of Michigan is now accepting applications for its 12-month Post-Graduate Athletic Training Fellowship program, beginning in June 2025. This non-accredited fellowship is designed to prepare athletic trainers for advanced clinical practice in sports medicine. Using an interdisciplinary model, the program incorporates evidence-based practices and focuses on enhancing healthcare quality for student-athletes, optimizing outcomes, and a robust human resource development component.
The University of Michigan Athletic Training Fellowship offers a comprehensive opportunity for licensed athletic trainers to further develop their clinical expertise, preparing them for clinical and leadership roles in the field of sports medicine. This opportunity will provide autonomous athletic team care, coverage and travel. Athletic Training Fellows will gain further education with a variety of multidisciplinary settings, including clinical education, interprofessional education (IPE), research, grand rounds, labs and dedicated sports assignments. The program is built on a foundation of mentorship, clinical skills development, and growth in administrative and interpersonal areas, facilitated through a micro-mentorship program.
