The CIS Department at the University of Michigan-Dearborn invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the general area of computer systems (including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data science, information science, emerging systems, game design, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud/edge computing, and quantum computing). The expected starting date is September 1, 2025. Although candidates at the Assistant Professor rank are preferred, exceptional candidates may be considered for the rank of Associate Professor depending upon experience and qualifications. The CIS Department offers several B.S. and M.S. degrees, and a Ph.D. degree. The current research areas in the department include artificial intelligence, computational game theory, computer graphics, cybersecurity, data privacy, data science/management, energy-efficient systems, game design, graphical models, machine learning, multimedia, natural language processing, networking, service and cloud computing, software engineering, and health informatics. These areas of research are supported by several established labs and many of these areas are currently funded by federal agencies and industries.
