Job Summary

 

Research Internship in Diabetic Retinal Diseases

Dr. Jayasundera, a retinal specialist and researcher is excited to announce a rewarding six-month research internship for a motivated individual seeking to gain admission to medical school. The internship will run throughout the spring of 2025

The focus of this internship is to develop a comprehensive patient-reported outcomes (PRO) instrument for diabetic retinal diseases. This instrument will assess various factors such as visual disabilities, anxiety related to vision impairment, challenges in glucose control affecting retinal disease management, and experiences with ophthalmological treatments and appointments.

As a research intern, you will play a crucial role in the creation of this new PRO instrument, contributing to innovative solutions in the management of diabetic retinal diseases. The internship will provide a holistic experience, including drafting manuscripts for publication in esteemed peer-reviewed journals and presenting findings at conferences. Modes of Work

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
