About the Role:

The School of Dentistry (SoD) Dental Informatics IT department invites you to be a key part of our team as a Data Analyst. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with clinicians, educators, researchers, and leaders to harness the power of data for evidence-based decision-making, operational excellence, and strategic growth. At Dental Informatics, your professional development is a priority. This position is eligible for hybrid work (with weekly onsite requirements). You will report to the Assistant Director of Data Analytics and Development.

What You'll Do:

  • Consult with clinics, academic departments, and research areas to analyze requests and define requirements.
  • Have a hand in furthering data automation and developing analysis.
  • Build data products, visualizations, and reports for researchers, faculty leadership, clinical directors, and finance colleagues.
  • Work mostly with Tableau, SQL, and Python, but will learn about services like Denodo and Airflow.
  • Collaborate with other data analysts, developers, and the larger IT team 
  • Work with other units on campus to leverage University-wide tools and services (e.g. Business Intelligence Community of Practice) and national networks (e.g. Healthcare Data and Analytics Association)

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS in a quantitative field 
  • 3+ years of experience managing and analyzing data
  • Familiarity with and professional experience building complex Tableau dashboards
  • Intermediate experience with SQL
  • Experience with a variety of databases, including Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, as well as proficiency in integrating data from diverse sources such as APIs and flat files into ETL workflows

Our organization mainly operates between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. While we do have clinics that operate from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM during the week, we support these crucial business functions as needed. May require occasional work during non-business hours and on weekends and travel to various locations.
