Job Summary

 

Assist in the delivery of direct care and support operational functions in the Operating Rooms/PACU at the Cardiovascular Center.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Assist in preparing the O.R. for surgery.
  • Assist with patient admission and care.
  • Setting up and stocking.
  • Pick daily cases.
  • Assist with transfer from the Pre-Op Holding to the Operating Room, transfer from Operating Room to PACU and transfer to other units as needed. 
  • Assist with patient positioning and equipment.
  • Assist with preparation of rooms including cleaning, pulling trash, linen and reorganizing to follow surgical procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of surgical equipment and assist with inventory.
  • Obtain and deliver supplies and equipment from other departments.

Required Qualifications*

 

Associate Level:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent, ability to read and write, and one of the following:

  • Junior status in an accredited BSN program
  • 2 years in accredited ADN program
  • Bachelor's Degree in an accredited BSN program
  • Minimum 1-year recent experience in an unlicensed assistive role in a patient care setting, such as nurse aide in a hospital setting
  • Minimum two years' experience in in an unlicensed assistive role in a patient care setting in a nursing home or other health care environment

Assistant Level:

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Recent OR experience.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program, Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Nursing student.
  • Knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in a patient care setting. 

Work Schedule

 
  • Hours: Full time, 40hrs  
  • Shift: Afternoons, M-F 1:50p-10:20p, with on-call and rotating weekend/holiday commitments.

Background Screening
