Job Summary

 

The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at the University of Michigan-
Dearborn (UM-Dearborn) is seeking to hire an energetic Web and Digital Marketing
Coordinator. The successful candidate will lead the development of the College's marketing
and communication materials in print, web, and other digital media in support of CECS
initiatives including student recruiting and student success efforts. This position reports to
the Assistant Dean and will work closely with faculty and staff in the college, as well as the
University's Web Services, Marketing and Communications teams in the Office of External
Relations. This position will be responsible for web content creation, editing, and curation
for CECS, using the Drupal CMS, in compliance with the university branding and social
media/web content requirements and guidelines.
The expected starting date is January 2025.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Assist in planning and implementing marketing and promotional strategies on the web
    and through social media platforms in support of the CECS student recruiting effort.
  • Review the College website, identify and implement improvements to content as well as
    organization of content.
  • Design, develop, schedule, post, and analyze engagement of social media content for
    the web and for the main platforms used by the university, including photos and videos.
  • Review new content for academic programs with relevant faculty and staff.
  • Work with the CECS units to ensure all pages of umdearborn.edu/cecs are up-to-date;
    this includes selecting and organizing multimedia assets for each page (including but not
    limited to, photos and videos).
  • Coordinate efforts with the External Relations teams. 
  • Support the CECS units in terms of quality assurance with their content.
  • Work with units to ensure that unpublished/draft content is needed on the site, and if
    not, work with Web Services to delete content.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or related fields.
  • Two years of professional marketing/communications experience.
  • Experience in social media applications in a corporate/educational setting (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X).
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop and post content, and track and perform analytics on social media
    tracking data reports.

Work Schedule

 

This position will be a combination of remote and in-person work based upon the operational needs of the college and subject to change.  Current requirements are 3 days per week on campus.
