Responsibilities*

 

The Department of Recreational Services is seeking student and non-student staff to lead training sessions in the Recreation Center. Openings include Personal Trainer. Shifts may be days or evenings, weekdays or weekends, depending on availability. Hourly wage begins at$22/hour, with higher starting wages based on prior experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Train clients in a one on one or small group setting to help them achieve their fitness and wellness goals.
  • Educate clients on proper and safe techniques.
  • Manage scheduling directly with assigned clients.
  • Provide first aid when necessary.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to obtain nationally recognized personal trainer and/or group fitness instructor certification. 
  • Demonstrates ability to lead an organized and safe class/training session.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Current certification for fitness/exercise and/or personal training (NASM, ACSM, ACE, NETA, Zumba, Spin, etc.).
  • Experience teaching a group fitness or wellness class format that is currently not offered (current classes listed here).
