A research specialist associate position is available immediately for highly-motivated individuals interested in studying relationships between immune system, diet, and the gut microbiota in the development of inflammation and cancer in the colon using mouse models and human samples. Research will involve using molecular biology tools and in vivo mice models. The successful job candidate will be performing tissue dissections, preparation of protein, RNA, and stool samples, and analysis of protein and gene expression by immunoblotting, quantitative PCR, and flow cytometry. The individual will also be monitoring ongoing mouse studies, genotyping as necessary, and performing tissue culture work with cell lines or primary cells harvested from mice.
