What are qualitative research methods and how can they be used to address industry and organizational opportunities and challenges. These are the central questions animating this course, which provides an overview of different qualitative research methods typically used in industry and applied contexts. You will learn about various methods like interviews, focus groups, case studies, digital ethnography, qualitative content analysis, and UX research. You will also learn about how these methods are applied in different industry contexts. By the end of the course, you should develop a general understanding of multiple qualitative research methods, including their theoretical underpinnings and how they can be applied to address challenges and opportunities in industry, making this course relevant for those interested in academic research as well as those who are looking to work in research-related industry positions. As this is a writing-intensive course, you will also learn how to write project proposals for applying qualitative methods to address organizational opportunities and challenges.
