In 2023 the President's Office established the Ethics, Integrity and Compliance Office (EICO). This newly formed office is currently seeking an experienced professional to support the work of the ethics, integrity and compliance officer. The EICO will help units coordinate ethics, integrity and compliance activities and offer guidance on compliance questions across the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses, as well as Michigan Medicine. We are seeking an experienced professional to design, develop, implement and promote awareness of the organization's business ethics policies. Important skills for this role include knowledge of best practices in ethics, integrity and compliance, knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing ethics and compliance in institutions of higher education, experience analyzing complex and often conflicting information, ability synthesize and present clear and concise findings and recommendations, and persuading and influencing decision-makers. Candidates should also possess strong analytical, research, and writing skills, and be a meticulous and an analytical and methodical thinker. Candidates should also possess the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts in other units, be adaptable, creative, and collaborative, as policy issues are constantly changing and require collaborating with diverse teams and partners.
You will report directly to and support the university's ethics, integrity and compliance officer, and will have independent responsibility for a significant volume and variety of high-level administrative functions and handling matters of a confidential and sensitive nature.
You will regularly interact with senior leaders and at times the president. Focused on providing excellent assistance to the ethics, integrity and compliance officer, the position's demands are variable in nature, type, and volume. The job responsibilities are shaped by the demands of the ethics, integrity and compliance office activities which vary over time. This position will be primarily on-site in Ann Arbor with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule in accordance with operational needs. Work on evenings and weekends may occasionally be needed to accommodate the office schedule and events.
The salary range for this position is $85,000- $100,000. A higher salary may be possible for well-qualified applicants.
