Job Summary

 

The College of Innovation & Technology at the University of Michigan-Flint is currently seeking an internal tenured candidate to serve as the CIT Graduate Studies Director.

The CIT Graduate Studies Director will be responsible for the leadership and direction of graduate academic programs within CIT. 

This 12 month full time (100% effort) appointment will be 50% Administrative and 50% Instructional effort.

The anticipated start date for this position is August 1, 2024.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Provide administrative oversight to graduate academic programs within CIT
  • Organize Council of Graduate Program Directors - serve as chair
  • Lead Council in ensuring graduate policies and documentation are current and active
  • Lead Council on assessment and program review processes
  • Communicate with Division Directors regarding scheduling needs
  • Work with Graduate Program Director in establishing yearly schedule of graduate courses
  • Promote CIT graduate programs
  • Provide minimum of two days/week in-person office hours
  • Supervise graduate program staff
  • Regularly attend CIT meetings and provide updates on grad program matters
     

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Graduate faculty with senior rank (tenured) appointed within the College of Innovation & Technology.  
  • Successful experience and knowledge of graduate academic programs.  
  • Experience with leading teams.
