The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to conduct, develop and design moderately complex research experiments utilizing immunohistochemistry, PCR, ELISA and CHIP. Review progress and evaluate results of experiments.
Lab Management:
- Oversight of day-to-day lab operations
A strong background in cellular and molecular biology techniques including:
- mammalian tissue culture
- siRNA and plasmid transfection into mammalian cells
- cloning and subcloning methods
- western blotting and immune/co-immunoprecipitation
- preparation of samples to be used for ChIP-/RNA- sequencing
- immunoflouresence
- magnetic activated cell sorting
- ability to work with crispr and cre-lox models
Develop, design and conduct complex research experiments:
- develop new techniques; formulate methods, recommend improvements/solutions
- collect data and conduct analysis, interpret and implement research methodology; evaluate results
- monitor progress and refine or adapt methodologies
Ability to work independently without immediate supervision; evaluate courses of action and make decisions.
Co-author publications and co-present results at meetings/conferences
Mentor and teach students and junior trainees.
