The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan is seeking an experienced biostatistician to help lead the Statistical Analysis of Biomedical and Educational Research (SABER) group as Associate Director. Begun in 1999, SABER is the data coordinating center (DCC) for several NIH-funded networks and multicenter trials and cohort studies. The areas of application include pulmonology, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, neurology, rheumatology, and emergency medicine. The current staff of 38 includes statisticians, database administrators, data managers, software developers, project managers, clinical monitors and research administrators.
The Associate Director will work closely with the SABER Director to effectively run the SABER unit by streamlining operations and budgets and implementing new ideas. The Associate Director will collaborate with clinician-scientists to identify ideas for sponsored research, and on the submission of applications for their funding.
