Job Summary

 

The University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-Dearborn) is one of the three campuses of the University of Michigan system. UM-Dearborn is a comprehensive university offering high quality undergraduate, graduate, professional, and continuing education to residents of southeastern Michigan, and currently enrolls just over 9,000 students. Faculty and students have the opportunity to collaborate across all three campuses in research and scholarly activity. UM-Dearborn is located 10 miles west of downtown Detroit and 35 miles east of Ann Arbor. The campus is strategically located on 200 suburban acres of the original Henry Ford Estate in the Greater Detroit Metropolitan Region.


The Office of Academic Success supports students, faculty, and staff by providing academic success resources, opportunities, and services that enhance the academic experience, teaching and learning, and success rates at UM-Dearborn.


The Office of Academic Success seeks a Project Manager who will support work on a multitude of committees, projects, initiatives, and reports as the need arises. Examples include supporting campus-wide curriculum committees, managing timelines and deliverables, providing administrative support for the Director, overseeing software platforms, generating area annual reports, managing academic policy tree, etc. Marketing and/or graphic design experience is also preferred, but not required.
This position reports to the Director of Academic Success and may support the work of the two Associate Provosts when needed.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Support curriculum related committees and work, including University Curriculum and Degree Committee; Graduate Curriculum Subcommittee; Assessment Subcommittee; and Dearborn Discovery Core Subcommittee by funneling college curricular changes into the UCDC/Graduate Subcommittee agendas, taking meeting minutes, coordinating follow up actions between colleges, Registrars, external bodies like Michigan Association of State Universities and Higher Learning Commission 
  • Maintain organized curriculum files and documentation for accreditation purposes
  • Manage curriculum software (i.e. CourseLeaf): provide training, troubleshooting, workflow management, updating membership, etc.
  • Assist in managing assessment, program review, and course syllabi processes
  • Provides support for academic success and academic affairs projects, including assisting in marketing and branding efforts
  • Assist with managing and communicating with faculty and staff
  • Provides administrative support as needed for the Director like light scheduling and project support
  • Additional duties as needed

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools and facilities with digital technology.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities, handle multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Ability to display excellent judgment while operating in a flexible and professional manner; ability to respond positively to changing priorities and receive direction from multiple people
  • Proven ability to pay attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with faculty and staff under a variety of circumstances
  • A high degree of initiative and resourcefulness
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion

Modes of Work

 

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

 

Office environment with typical working hours of 8:00am to- 5:00pm. Hybrid/flexible schedule would be an option.
