Job Summary

 

Provide high-level scientific writing, editing, literature review, and evidence-synthesis support for research projects in psychology, public health, nutrition, and related areas. The position will support the development of manuscripts, reports, presentations, literature reviews, and other scientific products.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Literature review and evidence synthesis: Conduct targeted literature searches; review and synthesize scientific literature; prepare concise literature-review summaries, evidence tables, and background briefs on research questions. 

  • Scientific editing and writing: Edit manuscripts, reports, presentations, and other scientific products for clarity, accuracy, organization, and scientific rigor; draft or revise sections based on guidance from the research team. 

  • Scientific fact-checking and citation verification: Verify scientific claims against primary sources; identify appropriate supporting citations; assess whether cited sources accurately support statements. 

  • Reference management: Maintain and organize references; check citations and bibliographies for completeness and accuracy. 

  • Scientific translation: Help translate complex scientific findings into clear, accurate prose for scientific, professional, and other audiences.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor?s degree in psychology, public health, nutrition, or related scientific discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience in critically evaluating peer-reviewed literature, interpreting research methods and findings, and synthesizing evidence across studies.

  • Minimum of 3 years of substantial scientific writing or editing experience, including drafting or extensively revising research manuscripts, literature reviews, evidence syntheses, or technical reports.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Advanced degree (Master?s, PhD, or equivalent training) in psychology, public health, nutrition, or a related field

  • Experience preparing manuscripts, literature reviews, evidence syntheses, or other scientific products

  • Experience with citation/reference-management software

  • Familiarity with research related to eating behavior, addiction, nutrition, or public health
