This position is a leadership position joining the MRI Quality Assurance team, overseeing the management of MRI imaging protocols at all Michigan Medicine MRI sites. This position also provides training and educational support to 86+ MRI technologists.

• Updating protocols on all scanners for Adult MR imaging.

   

• Travel to all sites of operation; Troy Advanced Imaging Center, Northville Health Center, Brighton Center for Specialty Care, East Ann Arbor Health Center, West Ann Arbor.

   

• Travel to University/Children's and Women's/Pavilion Hospital on occasion for professional development, one shared location. 

   

• Be competent in protocol development on all vendor platforms within Michigan Medicine MRI; Siemens, GE and Philips.

   

• Communicate protocol changes and provide MRI education/training to the technologists in a timely fashion through one-on-one interaction, Outlook/Teams and a quarterly newsletter. 

   

• Maintain and update the shared drive and Radiology SharePoint imaging protocol guidance with all pertinent protocol information via Radiology intranet. 

   

• Work with divisional radiologists as necessary, in developing and/or improving clinical and research protocols. 

   

• Facilitate regular protocol review meetings with each division within MRI.

   

• Work collaboratively with the Quality Control teams, pediatric Quality Assurance team and schedulers, answering all questions pertaining to adult protocols/scheduling. This collaboration includes monthly newsletters for all MRI Quality Assurance topics.

   

• Work closely with MRI management in maintaining proper and timely QA documentation; assisting in determining the impact of protocol changes on scheduling and throughput.

   

• Serve as a role model for the staff and provide support for the team. 

   

• Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patient's medical record.

   

• Complete job related tasks assigned by MRI Leadership.

• 3+ years of MRI experience.

   

• Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MR) or registration as a Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT). 

   

• 2+ years of experience scanning on Philips Ingenia/Ambition R5.7 or greater, and Siemens Sola Vida XA31 or greater and GE Artist MR31.

   

• 2+ years of advanced Imaging competency in Cardiac Imaging.

   

• Willing and able to complete Breast training within the first 12 months of hire/transfer. 

   

• BLS Certification

• Experience with alternative MR imaging (Pacemakers, Neurostimulators, Prostate/Breast/Liver Biopsies)

   

• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, Excel)

   

• MRSO Certification

   

• Familiarity with Radiology Billing

   

• Experience in MR imaging protocol building/development

4x10-hour shifts Monday 12pm-10pm, Tuesday Off, Wednesday 12pm-10pm, Thursday 12-pm-10pm, Friday 12pm-10pm. Potential of a limited working from home schedule. No weekends, Holidays, or On-call duties.

Training schedule and sites may vary since Troy will not be opened until January of 2028.
