The Psychology Discipline in the Behavioral Sciences Department is seeking a Grader I. The selected applicant will assist with grading undergraduate psychology coursework. Responsibilities will include reviewing student assignments, evaluating responses using established grading criteria and rubrics, recording grades, and providing feedback as appropriate. 

Some assignments will require the grader to draw on existing knowledge of psychological concepts, statistical concepts, research design, experimental methods, and related terminology and practices in order to evaluate the accuracy and quality of student responses. The grader must be able to complete assigned grading in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. 

The position may also require the use of course management systems, grading platforms, statistical software, or other software tools. Prior experience with all software used in the position is not required, but the selected applicant must be willing and able to learn new software as needed. 

This is a limited temporary appointment. The position is for 10-15 hours per week, which may vary depending on course needs and grading workload.

Applicants must have completed advanced undergraduate coursework in psychology or a closely related field, including coursework that provides familiarity with psychological concepts, statistics, research design, and experimental methods. 

Applicants must be students in good academic standing with a strong academic record. Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to grade undergraduate student coursework accurately, consistently, and within established deadlines.

A bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field is preferred. Exceptional candidates who have not yet completed a bachelor's degree will also be considered if they have completed substantial advanced undergraduate coursework relevant to the position and have demonstrated strong academic performance. 

Previous experience with grading, teaching, tutoring, research, statistical analysis, or psychology coursework is preferred. Familiarity with common learning management systems, statistical software, or other academic software is also desirable, although a willingness and ability to learn new software is sufficient.
